Chapel of Reconciliation, Berlin, Germany, 2000 designed by Rudolf Reitermann and Peter Sassenroth
The Chapel design was based on plans by the Berlin architects Peter Sassenroth and Rudolf Reitermann. The Austrian mud-brick building expert Martin Rauch built the chapel over the foundations of the sanctuary of the destroyed Reconciliation Church. The structure consists of an oval-shaped rammed-earth construction whose inner room is encircled by a colonnade framed by wooden slabs penetrated by light. --

Roosendaal Pavillion, Roosendaal, the Netherlands, 2009 designed by René van Zuuk Architekten
In order to create a new public square the city of Roosendaal asked the urban design office Quadrat to make a proposition. In their scheme they proposed to pave the square with red and brown brick, plant 15 trees, make three exits for the underground parking and as the most visible and important element they proposed a restaurant and coffee pavilion in the form of an oval. --

Bijlmer Park Theater, Amsterdam, the Netherlands, 2009 designed by Paul de Ruiter
The cultural building consists of an ellipse shape, with the upper two floors slightly displaced in relation to the ground floor. This provides a covered entrance area located in a logical position in the urban development plan’s routing.
The elliptical shape of the building did mean that it was necessary to search for a financially viable way of reproducing this rounded shape in the partially glass façade. The solution was found in a combination of wooden slats and vertical aluminum strips placed against the steel and glass sections of the facade. This means that the intersection points of the segmented façade are not visible and the building has a rounded, dynamic and somewhat abstract appearance that changes continually as you walk around it. -- ArchDaily

Fortaleza Hall is completely transparent, with an oval form designed to give a 360 degree view of the Carnaúba. Visitors will view the aircraft suspended in mid-air, as if in flight. Alongside it will be photographs of the original plane and mementoes of the two expeditions. --

The solution is achieved via two asymptotic black basalt walls that frame and shield the central path that leads visitors through a field of flowers to the main entry. As one travels along the pathway, the walls begin to create a sense of compression as they curve in towards each other, before releasing you into the open interior space of the building. The main building volume is contained within a bright yellow corrugated metal drum, which juxtaposes the black basalt walls. --
